When a loved one goes through the struggle of a chronic illnesses, whether it be cancer, arthritis or otherwise, there are always two sides to the story: the patient and their caretaker. The burden of caring for a patient can be a heavy one, both mentally and physically, yet the caretaker’s wellbeing is often overlooked. Due to this, caretakers often experience extreme sorrow in their lives. The Lakshmisha Foundation aims to improve the lives of these caretakers who devote their time and energy to care for these patients and give them support. The Foundation aims to do this through a number of services, all free of cost, such as:
- Organizing Support Groups and giving the caretakers emotional support
- Providing suggestions to the caretakers
- Keeping in touch with the caretakers
- Organizing events for the caretakers’ leisure, such as music, drama, etc.

The Lakshmisha Foundation will accomplish all this, and more, to relieve caretakers of some of their distress, in hopes of improving their lives both physically and mentally. In addition to helping these caretakers in need, the Lakshmisha foundation will also provide a means of education for the children of patients of chronic illnesses, and aims to establish a “Wall of Kindness,” as well, in which generous volunteers can help this cause by donating resources, such as clothes, groceries, etc. to help those in need.
